RyeHigh is the brain child of Derwin Remedios. The RyeHigh name itself is derived from Ryerson's dubious past as a former Teacher's College and its early reputation as being an easy school to get into. It was basically thought of as a high school within a university. Not so, not so!
Ryerson University has now become one of the most respected universities in Canada for engineering, technology, business and radio & television. It has expanded its campus dramatically. The Yonge/Dundas area (Eaton Centre area) is practically saturated with Ryerson buildings. Being right dead centre in the heart of Toronto, Ryerson is an easy choice for many high school graduates and professionals seeking continuing education.
The RyeHigh site was started as part of the evolution of Daremedy.com website (my personal website). It grew in popularity for many students, and so when the actual domain (RyeHigh.com) became available, I was all over it! The main focus was to provide notes, tests and invaluable information to current and prospective students to get a little head start on their courses. The focus has been on Computer Science (my degree) but to truly serve RyeHigh, I'll be expanding it to cover every other degree offered. So look forward to many changes and evolutions of this domain. I hope it becomes a site that Ryerson students can communicate on, share information and just help each other out. Spread the word and stay tuned!
